Tour the East & West Coast at Lakeview’s 31st Annual Festival of Food & Wine

Food lovers and wine enthusiasts get set for a weekend long adventure in Wild & Wonderful West Virginia. The 31st Annual Festival of Food & Wine at Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa will take place January 16-18, 2015. This year’s theme is “The East Coast / West Coast Culinary Tour.” There will be demonstrations focusing on east and west coast dishes with special wines & whiskeys complementing the meals.

“We’ll start the weekend off with an Ice Sculpting display and dessert session, showing the audience how to spice up an event” says Jessie Teasdale Executive Chef at Lakeview. Teasdale went on to add, “the chefs that are attending are highly regarded in their positions and enjoy teaching the audience how to make each meal.”

The weekend includes a Friday dinner and cocktail reception for guests, a Saturday filled with culinary demonstrations, buffets, artisan marketplace, wine and whiskey tasting. Throughout the weekend there will be an abundance of seminars, cooking competitions, wine, whiskey and more from Teasdale and six other acclaimed chefs. The chefs have a wide range of experience cooking different specialty items.

Lakeview General Manager Steve Sharkey says “for this year’s event we are trying to attract the local residents so they can get a feel for what this Festival is all about!” He went on to add “day packages are available at $49 for all day Saturday and other packages are available for anyone who just wants to get away for a fun filled weekend.”

The 31st Annual Festival of Food & Wine will feature wines from Heston Winery in Fairmont, West Virginia and ingredients from locally owned businesses. The Winery will be selling wines throughout the weekend.” Also Master Brewer Brian Anderson will be on hand to give a demonstration on brewing beer from The Mountain State Brewery.

On Friday, January 16, 2015 there will be a cocktail reception where guests will meet the chefs and enjoy a bountiful display of food and wine followed by the Friday dinner buffet. Saturday’s breakfast will be followed with culinary demonstrations including different meals from the east and west coasts.

Throughout the day the Artisan Marketplace will be open with local vendors selling specialty items such as jewelry, wines, jams, sauces and more. One of the main events will be the 5th Annual Lakeview Iron Chef Competition on Saturday at 4:00pm.

Saturday evening, attendees will be catered to a spectacular spread of the year’s best and most delicious meals. The event will wrap up on Sunday morning with a brunch prepared by Lakeview’s own Chef Jessie Teasdale and the Lakeview Culinary Team.
